Manaus

Linda wakes at dawn to bird songs, and the fresh smell of heavy dew that rests on exotic leaves that stand as tall as a she does. She prepares for her day, a breakfast of fresh star fruit and lemon water, her morning ritual.  She ties her thick, dark hair back in a modest bun and washes her face in an old wood basin.  The humidity begs each strand from her head to dance about in a frizzy mess as the day progresses, but she pays no mind to that.  She is not here for a show.  She is here in this place to transform the world, one dream at a time.

She makes her way to the thatched hut that serves as a quaint reception area for the retreat nestled deep in the jungle of Manaus.  The spa is owned by a single mother that she found needing assistance on workaway.com.  As she walks to her purpose, her mind races with visions of a new brand and marketing plan for this mysterious place, it is her first business transformation project.  She recalls that just months ago she was in the Silicon Valley, driving the same commute, walking down the same hall, to work with the same people, in the same building where she spent 19 years of her life.

A sense of freedom washes over her, her courage to leave that lifeless six figure job has paid off.  A slow smile spreads across her face as she muses, this is exactly where I am supposed to be.
